The treasures of Egypt
In the footsteps of Jean Capart, Raoul Waroqué and Edouard Empain

Sunday 30 March 2019, from 9am to 6pm

Belgium is full of unknown treasures in Egyptology. The Boghossian Foundation invites you to discover them during a trip that begins at the Villa Empain with a visit to the Heliopolis exhibition, in the company of curators Marie-Cécile Bruwier and Florence Doyen, who shed light on this ancient city.

We then follow in Jean Capart’s footsteps at the Royal Museums of Art and History with an original visit, behind the scenes of the museum under renovation. Luc Delvaux, curator of the Egyptian dynastic and Greco-Roman collection, will explain the main challenges and prospects for the redeployment of the Egyptian collection, and will open the doors to the section dedicated to the Ramses era.

We have lunch in the restaurant Le Drapeau Blanc, near the Royal Museum of Mariemont, where curator Arnaud Quertinmont leads us in the afternoon through the abundant Egyptian collection.
