Zazen, seated meditation
Every Monday, from 14 November 2016 to 23 January 2017, from 12.30 to 13.30
Excepting Monday 26 December 2016 and 2 January 2016
The Boghossian Foundation organizes mediation sessions in the exhibition Seeing Zen. Zazen, seated meditation, is at the heart of Zen, with a mindful tenderness granted to posture, breathing and the nature of mind. The secret of Zen is to sit, simply, without purpose nor intention of profit, in a great presence.
This practice offered by the Boghossian Foundation consists in two half-hour meditations and is open to beginners, who will be guided by Frank De Waele.
Frank De Waele Roshi, an instuctor in keeping with the tradition of Zen Soto, has served the spiritual direction and solemn functions in the Zen Sangha buddhist community since 2005. He instructs shikantaza, which teaches silent sitting, as well as koan practice. In October 2015, he received the final seal of transmission (inka) from his two masters.
