Job Gijsbrechts – The costume as a space and the space as a costume
640,00€
These two works on vinyl, cardboard and dibond are results of Job Gijsbrechts’ master research ‘The costume as a space and the space as a costume’ at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp. In this work, the artist looks for the interactions between the costume and the space. Specifically in these works, Gijsbrechts searches for a way to disappear into the space through costume, by making use of objects that are normally easily looked over. During this research, the artist collaborated with different photographers; the two works presented at the Boghossian Foundation were photographed with Ruben Dekker.
Job Gijsbrechts is a laureate of the Boghossian Foundation Prize in 2021.
