Armenia, between survival and reconstruction

Six months after the military defeat, Armenia is painfully licking its wounds. New test for this nation or strategic turning point for a state which needs to find its place in the region?

On the 106th anniversary of the Armenian genocide, how do Armenia and Armenians see the future of their homeland and their role in the world? To find out, the Boghossian Foundation welcomes Vicken Cheterian, a political scientist and specialist in the Caucasus and the Middle East, for an online lecture hosted by Gaïdz Minassian.

The holder of a doctorate in History and International Politics from the Graduate Institute of International Studies (IUHEI) in Geneva (Switzerland), Vicken Cheterian specializes in the resolution of conflicts, revolutions, protest movements, and questions of political Islam. Writing and speaking in several international media, such as Le Monde Diplomatique, Vicken Cheterian is also closely interested in media, security, development and the environment. In relation with several international institutions such as the World Bank, OSCE, OHCHR, UNEP, SDC, he directs a course on media and communication and international relations at Webster University. He is also the author of several books, including Open Wounds, Armenians, Turks and a Century of Genocide, Hurst and Oxford University Press, 2015.
