Party at the Villa

The roaring twenties, art deco, costumes, model building, swing, ragtime, charleston, Gershwin, Cotton-Club are on the programme of this workshop organised by the CIVA and the Jeunesses Musicales de Bruxelles.

In the unique setting of the Villa Empain, the children will discover the Art Nouveau and Art Deco architecture, the fashion of clothing and music of this period. On the programme: building theatre models, making puppets, initiation to swing and ragtime… A festive and 100% Années Folles immersion with Joséphine Baker!

CIVA is a museum, an archive, a library and a meeting and discussion place for enthusiasts of architecture, landscape, the urban ecosystem and history in Brussels. Temporary exhibitions, debates, guided tours and children’s activities take place throughout the year.

With its educational programme, CIVA aims to make the young public curious about the city and its surroundings and to stimulate their enthusiasm to become its ambassadors! A team of experts, guides and animators proposes a wide range of activities for children to discover the exhibitions, the collection and the city.
