War in Ukraine, chaos in the Middle East, the Covid-19 pandemic, US-China rivalries, how can international relations evolve at a time of major challenges for peace and the well-being of humanity? The Boghossian Foundation is pleased to welcome Alain Frachon, editorialist at Le Monde and author of the book Un Autre Monde, l’ère des dictateurs to decipher these issues with Gaïdz Minassian.
Alain Frachon is a journalist. A graduate in law and political science and of the Centre de formation des journalistes (CFJ), he started his career at Europe 1 and then at AFP where he worked for ten years as a correspondent in Tehran, London and Washington. He joined the newspaper Le Monde in 1985, as a correspondent in Jerusalem and Washington before holding several positions in the management of the daily newspaper: head of the foreign service, editor in chief in charge of analysis and editorials, director of the magazine Le Monde 2 and editorial director on several occasions. For several years, he has been the author of a weekly column on contemporary strategic issues. He is the author of several books, the latest of which, Un Autre Monde, l’ère des dictateurs, Editions Perrin, 2022.
Gaïdz Minassian is a journalist at Le Monde and teaches at Sciences Po Paris.
