An Art Deco pause
Everday except for Mondays from 11 am to 6 pm

Whilst visiting the Villa Empain take the opportunity to have lunch or have a drink in what was the private salon of the Baron Empain, a jewel of Art Deco architecture. From July 31st, 2018.

Since its inauguration in May 2018, the Villa Empain’s private Salon is exceptionally furnished – designed with the setting’s refined Art Deco spirit in mind; benches, sofas, and tables harmoniously commingle with the space’s original precious materials : marble stucco walls, ceilings with Manilkara wood panelling from Venezuela, beautifully crafted ironwork… The tables echo the shelves made of fine marble, their brass patterns recall the Villa’s angle irons gilded with gold leaf, the pale pink velvet seats align beautifully with the velvety exotic woods – Indian moiré-patterned wood and and walnut burr.

Designed to welcome 28 people, the space is equipped with an American style bar – a detail particularly in vogue in the 1930s – adorned with a small fountain in the shape of a fish. The bay window opens onto a small terrace where in fair weather, lunch is served. It is surrounded by century-old pine trees dating back to the Villa’s construction.
